Grandparents Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our extended families.
Whether you call her Nana or Oma, there is no one like your grandmother. And whether he is known as PawPaw or Nonno, your grandfather is an especially awesome person. The heart behind Grandparents Day is a women named Marian McQuade, who wanted to establish a day set aside to honor the generations in a family. At Campbell’s Flowers, we create floral bouquets and arrangements all year which honor the special people in your life – including your grandparents.
McQuade’s vision was that one day each year – the Sunday after Labor Day – everyone would enjoy family reunions, gatherings, and events designed to bring them together. She valued the wisdom and stories that the elders could share – as well as the honor, gratitude and love that the younger family member felt towards them. The day was never meant to become a huge commercial holiday, rather her dream was that people would embrace a loving and heartfelt tradition of legacy.
Did You Know? Grandparents are an especially proud group. In a recent study, researchers learned that over 90% of grandparents admit to telling others about their grandkids at least once a day – and that they would find any willing audience whether a shop clerk or next door neighbor.
If your grandparents live here in Pueblo, we encourage you to make plans to spend the day together. But whether they live here in town or across the miles, don’t forget the flowers! We invite you to browse our Grandparents Day collection and to send the perfect gift – like a beautiful bouquet for Grandma, or a unique succulent garden in a classic Ford pickup truck for Grandpa. The experts at Campbell’s Flowers have everything you need to celebrate these very special people in a personal and meaningful way.
