Did You Know? Administrative Professionals Week began in the 1950’s but originally was called National Secretaries Day. As companies began to ramp up again after the end of World War II, the need for support personnel was great. A day to honor secretaries was established in the hopes that it would inspire more people to choose the vocation as a career. Though our terminology has evolved, and our ways of doing business have changed, the sentiment is the same. We don’t know where we would be without all of our dedicated team members.
Research shows that employees who feel that their contribution is valued are more productive, take fewer sick days, and pitch in more often. Those who feel their opinion is heard and appreciated will be more creative, find better ways to produce, and take an interest in the success of the company.
