March 8 gives us International Women’s Day, an occasion on which to honor the achievements of women young and old, past and present. We celebrate this day with over 100 other countries across the world who also officially recognize it as a time to cheer, promote, advocate and agitate on behalf of women. Here at Campbell’s Flowers, we’ll be acknowledging and supporting the most influential ladies in our lives along with you, and one way we do that is by bringing you the flowers you will bring to them.

Exchanging flowers on IWD is a common practice—in Italy, they give yellow mimosas—and pays homage in a beautiful way. Three colors are associated with IWD: purple, green and yellow. Purple is symbolic of loyalty, while green reflects the occasion’s progressive, growth-oriented side. Yellow has only recently been added to the mix and is emblematic of dawning awareness. If you’re giving flowers this year, try to select a piece that uses this palette. Our One Fine Day design is a great example.
