Put A Little Pantone Color Of The Year Into Your Life

When Pantone announced their 2018 Color Of The Year as Ultra Violet, Campbell’s Flowers got just a little excited, as in, “Let the reign of purple begin!”

The famous color company convenes each year with other hue experts from around the world to select one emblematic color to both capture the spirit of the times and to forecast how that spirit might evolve in the year ahead. Maybe they were influenced by Prince’s passing, maybe they were inspired by a growing trend toward spiritual wellness (this is a very cosmic color, after all), but the fine folks at Pantone have given us purple.

So how can you put a little Pantone Color of the Year in your life? Easy, start with flowers. Rather than commit to a paint color, accent furniture or a dozen throw pillows, simply turn to orchids. This flowering plant is known for its modern, nearly fluorescent purple shade – a color that looks great in contrast with green. Our Island Princess is a fitting example of how orchids do purple.

Orchids, with their graceful, skyrocketing scale, always bring in a touch of the exotic. And now that Ultra Violet is 2018’s color, we think we’ll be seeing even more of them. Be sure to add some of this intriguing color to your home’s decor scheme this year.
