Campbell’s Flowers, Pueblo and West Pueblo’s best florists are celebrating Women’s History Month by revealing favorite flowers of famous women from the past and today. We were surprised by how varied their favorite flowers are and how much these flowers perfectly reflected each lady’s character.

The Lily of the Valley was the favorite flower of the classic and iconic Audrey Hepburn. Known for her fashion sense, skill as a leading lady, and humanitarian work, the Lily of the Valley was a perfect representation of this elegant and beautiful actress. Symbolizing hope, purity, happiness, and sweetness, these fragrant flowering plants are often seen in many wedding ceremonies. In fact, just a small bunch of Lily of the Valley flowers made up Audrey Hepburn’s wedding bouquet.

White Peony

Hydrangeas are a favorite flower of many because of the beautiful full head of colorful blooms. The significance of hydrangeas varies across cultures. For instance, in Japan, hydrangea flowers represent understanding, apologies, and heartfelt emotion. In Europe, hydrangeas represent arrogance and boastfulness because of the plant producing an abundance of flowers but with very few seeds. Colors symbolism is much more consistent across different countries, though, and Katy Perry’s preferred flower colors of white and purple symbolize purity, peace, and love for white and royalty, understanding, and gratefulness for purple.
